Dates:6/1/1883 - 6/1/1910
Album Info:Don't know too much about these Chicago, St Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha photos other than they are on very old, thin photographic paper. Several have what appear to be photo block numbers - could have been builder's photos or possibly used in a book, or taken as company reference photos. Most look like they have had the backgrounds professionally cropped - one even has the engine cut out from the border (4-4-0 #73). Although sepia tinted from age, the paper, print quality, and photo stability are much higher than I have been seeing in older photos, very crisp, clean, sharp photos. One additional point, the new looking engines themselves were built between 1888-1910 with one of them (#255) having been involved in an accident circa 1910. I will arbitrarily be using the builder's date as the photo date.
