Title:  BO 2-8-2 #4209 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:  Long before a GP40 wore the number 4209, this Baldwin 2-8-2 Mikado had the honor. Built in September of 1912 (serial #38414) filled in freight and passenger service during its career. It was rebuilt to the Q-1ba class in 1931. After nearly 39 years of service, the loco was retired and scrapped in the month of March, 1951, at the Mt Clare, MD yard. . Original specs - Q-1b, 64" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 282,200 lb, tractive effort of 54,600 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo and the exact date is approximate..

Description:  Built by Baldwin in August of 1913 as BO 2-8-2 Mikado #4260 (serial #40327), it served the B&O for nearly 42 years until being retired and scrapped in February of 1955 at Glenwood, OH. Specs - Q-1c class, 64" drivers, 190 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 284,500 lb, tractive effort of 54,600 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.
