CP 4-6-2 #2409 - Canadian Pacific
Description:
Billowing clouds of smoke is Canadian Pacific 4-6-2 #2409 heading out with a passenger train from Tweed, Ontario, Canada. Built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in December of 1942, the loco served for nearly 22 years before being retired and scrapped in September of 1964. Original specs - G3a class, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x30" cylinders, 75" drivers, engine weight of 299,000 lb and tractive effort of 42,500 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.
