Description:
Here is page 21 of a 29-page article by Eric Hirsimaki entitled "Interview With Clair I. Clugh: Manager, Altoona Works (Retired)." It was published originally in the Summer 1996 issue of "The Keystone" magazine, page 36. Partial Caption: "Heavy repairs being performed on I1S #4581, East Altoona enginehouse." PRR engine #4581 is an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during September of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in November of 1942, and retired in August of 1952 after 29 years of faithful service.
