Description:  Standing ready for its daily commuter service is Chicago & North Western 4-6-2 Pacific #598 in the Barrington yard. Built by Alco-Schenectady in March of 1914 as CNW #1598, it had its number shortened to just CNW 598 in 1952. No final disposition date was found for this loco. . Specs - class E, 75" drivers, 185 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 261,000 lb, tractive effort of 36,700 lb. A stoker was applied in June of 1944. No photographer was listed for the photo.
