Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2512, an "E" Class (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built by Societe Alsacienne de Constructions Mecaniques during 1904 and retired in May of 1913 after just 11 years of revenue service. Partial Caption: "One of the most famous experimental engines ever tested by the Pennsylvania was Number 2512, a de Glehn Compound built in Belford, France, and exhibited at the St. Louis Exposition of 1905." #2512 was built during 1904 and retired in May of 1913. Correction ~> Engine #1361 is actually a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific," not an "E4s." |
