CN local parallels Harrison St. as it crosses over from the remnants of the former C&NW mainline to the former SOO mainline at the south end of the yard at Neenah, WI on 10 Aug. '14. Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 are partially visible on the left. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished. I presume the train, with about 40 cars, was returning from a trip to Fond du Lac. |
