Although marked as "Chesapeake & Ohio" #1225, it's actually Pere Marquette 2-8-4 #1225. The successor to the PM was C&O who donated the loco to the University of Michigan for a static display in 1957 as seen here. It was restored to running by 1988 and was used as the basis for the loco in the movie, "The Polar Express" . The loco is currently running until 2028 when it has its 15 year inspection. No exact date or photographer was given for the series of slides. |
