A typical set of WSOR GP38 type units at Ripon Junction. During the days of the Milwaukee Road, this junction is where the line went off to the east to Oshkosh or north to Rush Lake. At Rush Lake, there was another junction which allowed trains to run west to Berlin or north to Omro and Winneconne. The track that went to Rush Lake now terminates at Oshkosh Street which is a couple hundred feet in front of the 3811. The junction itself is within the confines of Alliance, formerly Speed Queen, factory that manufactures commercial laundry equipment. Alliance receives covered hoppers via WSOR. |
