Spruce Creek. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Spruce Creek, Pennsylvania, on 10 July 1965. Shown here are PRR engines #6027, #2412, and #7069. #6027 is an EF-25A built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2412 is an AF-24 built by ALCo in 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. #7069 is an EFS-17M built by EMD in 1956 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. They are pulling a 49-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train with cabin car #477382. Also visible are the Little Juniata River on the left and State Route 45 on the right.

Rick Erben General I am really enjoying your series of pictures from Spruce Creek and Horseshoe. That was such a great time for varied motive power and lots of action. The Ore Extra on Horseshoe is a classic. Glad you took the trouble to record these images. 7/11/2016 12:20:21 AM
