Steaming away in an unknown yard is Baltimore & Ohio 2-8-2 MacArthur #4547 built by Baldwin in August of 1918 (serial #49539). It was later renumbered in 1957 for a short time as BO #345 before being retired and scrapped in March of 1958 at Fairmont, OH. Specs - Q-3 class, 64" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 292,000 lb, tractive effort of 53,800 lb. No date or photographer was listed for the photo. |
