| A pair of American Bicentennial locomotives. ATSF 5701 was one of five SD45-2's that the Santa Fe painted up for the bicentennial. Repainted into basic blue and yellow by 1977. IT got damaged and rebuilt as a B unit in 1987, becoming ATSF 5514. It later became BNSF 7508 then BNSF 6523. Norfolk and Western's 1776, a 1970 built SD45 is today preserved at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, VA. |
