Traffic Jam on Fourth Street -- Gretna, Louisian
There's a big afternoon traffic jam on Fourth Street in Gretna, Louisiana, as a train of the NOGC is stopped waiting on the driver of the F150 at left to move her vehicle forward a few inches so that the train can pass. The truck parked in front of the train is an NOGC truck that the conductor rides ahead of the train to look out for problems like this, throw switches, and open and close drawbridges. NOGC crewmen can be seen in reflective vests assisting the driver with her truck. This is ex-SP trackage; the Mississippi River is four blocks to the left.
