Title:
PRR 207, L-1S, 1953
Description:
Blackhawk. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Homer T. Newton, Jr., that was taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1953. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania 2-8-2 No. 207, Pittsburgh, Pa. 6-6-1953." PRR engine #207 is an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built in Juniata during November of 1914 and retired in February of 1955 after 41 years of faithful service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Steam In Action from Virginia to Ohio" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (880-15).
