"Railroad" Magazine, February 1941         
Here are two photos taken by unidentified photographers that were published originally in the February 1941 issue of "Railroad" magazine, page 20. Partial Caption: "The Pennsylvania's first experiments with smoke-lifters did not enhance the appearance of its K5 engine Number 5698, but they did pave the way for the stack treatments of the 3768." Pictured in the lower photo is #5698, a K-5 (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during 1929 and retired in October of 1952. Shown in the upper photo is #3768, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during June of 1920, streamlined in 1936, and retired in October of 1953.
